Inside the Stamps
We are pleased to present a set of eight stamps titled “Back to the Moon, Exploring the Moon and Space.” This issue continues the story of NASA human spaceflight, which commenced with “One Small Step” issued in April 2019.
It has been our great honour and privilege to work with George Abbey and NASA to create this third set of stamps marking over 50 Years of Lunar Exploration and mankind’s further exploration of space, symbolically themed around that ‘One Small Step’ Neil Armstrong took on the surface of the Moon in 1969 and the ‘Giant Leap’ forward for humanity.
Stamp One
ARTEMIS. NASA’s heavy lifter that will take the Orion module into space.
Stamp Two
ORION. The crewed capsule that will take astronauts around the Moon and safely back to Earth.
Stamp Three
LONE ALPHA. The first data centre that will connect Earth and the Moon. A Manx creation.
Stamp Four
CITY OF NEW HOPE. The first lunar city, where scientists and astronauts will live and work.
Stamp Five
DISCOVERY. The labs and experimental research facilities where scientists will discover new ways to fuel our space journeys and live off world.
Stamp Six
PEOPLE OF THE MOON. The people that work and live on the Moon.
Stamp Seven
THE GARDEN. A living biosphere garden where the people of the Moon will relax.
Stamp Eight
EARTHRISE. A projected live view of the Earth in the Lunar living quarters.
